I just thought I’d add a little christmas gift before checking out for this year. Much love!

There’s been a long while since my last article, I know. Maybe it’s because I feel that every article needs to be something groundbreaking, or maybe it’s because it feels kinda weird talking into an empty room, so to speak. Anyway, I had the intention of not making this just a blog with sporadic, throw away posts, but more a collection of articles. Since I haven’t been able to post as frequent as planned on the conditions mentioned above I will, starting with this post, lower my standards slightly, and use the space of Frame by Frame to share my experiments and thoughts more frequently and less filtered.

If a person is unfortunate enough to lose one of their senses, the rest might grow stronger in order to compensate, a phenomena not too uncommon in the world of superhero comics. However, this concept is also applicable to when a story loses one of its channels of communication, in this case, the written word. In this article I’ll explore how sequential narrative without written words might work. Can a story be properly told simply by image? How does it change the reader’s experience, and what is important to keep in mind when telling a pantomime sequential story? Let’s have a look.

Firing of these series of articles I can’t help myself to quickly steer into the lovely pit-stop of comics. But what I really want to address is their place on the vast highway of sequential storytelling and why some believe they don’t belong along side the interstates of Literature and Fine arts. But enough of puns, let’s roll.

I suppose it’s in order to greet you all welcome and tell you a little something about what I’m planning on doing here. I’m dedicating this site to the medium of sequential storytelling (the means of communicating by sequences of images). I myself is eager to learn about this subject, and to follow in the words of Kurt Zadek Lewin I’ll do my best to change it. Here it goes.
